Book Blogs

The internet is full of great sites with readers discussing books.

Three sites let members see what other readers are reading, discuss books with those with similar interests, and more.

  • At Shelfari readers create bookshelves of titles they've read, and Shelfari matches up readers with common reading interests. You can also see lists of books members are currently reading or have on their "to read" lists.
  • A similar site is goodreads.   Members can share lists and see what friends are reading.
  • Finally, Library Thing helps you create a library-quality catalog of your books, as well as connect with readers of similar tastes.

Google book blogs, and you will get over 11 million hits back! A few to check out are:

  • Book Dwarf by a buyer from the Harvard Book Store
  • Book Slut is a monthly web magazine and daily blog.
  • lit-blog coop unites 21 literary weblogs for the purpose of drawing attention to the best of contemparary fiction, authors, and presses.  Quarterly, participating bloggers will pick and discuss a book.  You can also access all 21 blogs from the lit-blog site.

We're still planning on our own blog--we'd like to share great books we've just read and let our customers tell us and each other about some of the good (or not so good) books they've read.   Until then, check out our staff picks page, or stop in and find out what we're reading.
