The staff at Northwind Book & Fiber is happy to work with your club in any way we can. We will special order the number of books you need, and we can offer great reading suggestions.
There are many excellent resources available on the internet, whether it is a reading guide for your month's selection or the opportunity to have the author meet with your club over the phone. Check out some of the sites listed to the left. Many authors also have websites worth visiting.
While we do not presently run our own club, there are two community clubs open to drop-ins. "Downtown Book Chat" meets at the Ag Research Station on Hwy. 70 on the second Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. For information, contact Nancy Oostdyk. They are scheduled to read the following:
- June 10 Moby Dick by Herman Melville
- July 8 Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen
A new drop-in club started in January 2008 at the Spooner Memorial Library. It meets the third Thursday of the month at 1:30 p.m. Contact Carolyn Pittman at the library for information (635-2792):
- June 19 The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver
- July 17 Light on Snow by Anita Shreve
- August 21 Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen
