Swirl Scarf or Shawl

Saturday, July 24th

1 to 4 p.m.

Instructor: Linda Schmit

Fee:  $15           

This is an intermediate knitting project.  Participants can choose to knit a swirl scarf or shawl with the beautiful Melody superwash wool.  You should be able to knit, purl, increase (yo), decrease (ktog), and use double point needles. (Sample is available to see in the store)  

Materials: Can purchase materials at store (in class or before).  3 to 5 skeins of Melody wool, size 6 double point needles, saftety pins, 3 stitch markers (at least 2 colors), and notebook & pencil.   Participants will receive a 10% discount on materials.

Beginning Knitting

Tuesday, July 27th

5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Instructor: Lisa Mikula

Fee:  $10           

Learn to knit in this quick introductory course.  For adults or kids with an adult.  Get started on an old fashioned wash cloth or a scarf

Materials: Yarn and needles can be purchased during class with advice from instructor.   Participants will receive a 10% discount on materials.

Mother & Daughter--Knit a fun scarf

Thursday, August 12th  (note date change from the 5th)

2 to 4  p.m.

Instructor: Lisa Mikula

Fee:  $10 individual or $15 for mom (or Aunt, Grandma, Friend) & daughter pair Knit a fun head scarf for mom and/or daughter.  Pattern is based on the old fashioned wash cloth pattern.  Individuals are also welcome.  Class is suitable for beginners.

Materials: Yarn and needles can be purchased during class with advice from instructor.   Participants will receive a 10% discount on materials.

Knit a Hat

Wednesday, August 18th

5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Instructor: Kathy Shattuck

Fee:  $10           

Graduate from scarves with this easy hat done in bulky weight yarn.  Learn to use circulars and double points in this project.  Participants should know how to cast on and knit (no purling required).

Materials: Yarn and needles can be purchased during class with advice from instructor.   Participants will receive a 10% discount on materials.

Learn to Knit Socks

Thursday, August 19th

5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Instructor: Sherrine Whalley

Fee:  $15           

Learn to knit socks.  Knit a miniature sock and learn all the steps in a single class.  Participants should know knitting basics--how to cast on, knit & purl.

Materials: Materials available at the store.  Or bring in yarn from your stash with double points to match weight of yarn.   Participants will receive a 10% discount on materials.

Watrcolor Leaf Casting Class

Friday, August 20th  7 to 9 p.m.

and Saturday, August 21st   10 to noon

Instructor: Sandy Lee

Fee:  $35 (includes materials, except leaves)           

Learn how to make a beautiful watercolor picture, using leaves from your yard.  You'll learn design, mixing colors, and leaf casting.   Examples are available to see in the store.  Class is suitable for beginners.

Materials: Included in class price, except leaves.  Bring a variety of green leaves.  Can also bring your own watercolors and brushes ifyou have them.

On-going Opportunities

NEW!  Third Thursday Knit & W(h)ine

Third Thursday, 7 to 9 p.m.

Bring a knitting (or crocheting) project and byob(everage).  Knit, visit, learn from other knitters.  While store will not be open to public, the register will be open for any knitting purchases.  Neither wine nor whining are required, but both are allowed!

Beginning Knitting

Wednesdays 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. (school year schedule)

Fee:  $1 per class; no need to register--just drop in.

For kids and adult beginners.  Come whenever you can.  Sherrine will get you started and help with projects in progress.
