We are closed to the public per the Governor's order, to stop the spread of coronavirus. However, we will be taking orders by phone (from 10 to 3, Mon to Sat), by email, and on-line. Stay safe and sane (reading and knitting should help!).
Eat and Read Book Club
Looking for a book club? The Eat and Read Book Club meets at Northwind Book & Fiber every other Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. The first meeting of the current academic year is October 19, 2019.
Read and discuss world-renowned works of literature, and, as the name suggests, food is involved! It is potluck style, and with the 2 p.m. meeting time now, it will be appetizers & snacks rather than a dinner.
The group has been meeting for several years and is led by Heidi Wahlstorm (a bookseller at Northwind). Heidi has a degree in English. New members are always welcome. Each year there is a $5 materials fee.
This year's theme is Paris--everything from novels set in Paris to memoirs to poetry by a Parisian. At the first meeting they will be reading short poetry by Victor Hugo together. The meeting will also be the opportunity to discuss the logistics and the book selections. They will read a selection by Simone de Beauvoir, chosen by the group, between the Bourne Identity and Chocolat.
To register or for more details: Contact Heidi at 715-645-2039 or firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also contact the store to register.
Below is the list for 2019-20. There may be some changes of titles and the book order as the year progresses. Check with Heidi if questions about the current book.
