Eat and Read Book Club
Looking for a book club? The Eat and Read Book Club meets at Northwind Book & Fiber once a month on the third Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
Eat and Read is a literature group that strives to read a variety of books from various time periods and locations. The book club was started in 2011 by Heidi Wahlstrom and Jessica Smuda. Each year a list of works is compiled that the group has expressed interest in or that fit into a reading theme. Previous themes have been World Literature, Original Monster Mash, Science Fiction Literature, Women’s Literature, Let’s Visit Paris, and Off to Ireland.
New members are always welcome. Join any time.
This year, the theme is Native American Lit, and the books will be either about Native American Cultures or written by Native American authors. The reading list will be compiled from different genres such as: nonfiction, adventure, classical literature, and young adult. The list is below. We will read and discuss Native American poetry at the first meeting, which will be on October 16 at 1 p.m. (Postponed from Saturday 10/15).
Each member is welcome to bring in snacks for the group to share if they would like.
Get ready to expand your horizons through great books!
